The LIFEsaving GOES ON: a $25,000 fundraiser for Rescue Village with a $7,500 matching challenge offered!

The Wenk Family Charitable Foundation has generously offered to match the first $5,000 in donations and an anonymous donor has offered to match another $2,500 to Rescue Village’s The LIFEsaving GOES ON fundraiser! That means that every dollar of the first $7,500 donated will automatically be doubled! No donation amount is too small, and every dollar will be directed to saving the lives of animals and to providing vital resources to our community that are aimed at keeping people and their pets together throughout the COVID-19 crisis and beyond. Together, we can get through this!

Please enjoy this video special message from The Wenk Family Charitable Foundation.

Our goal is to raise $25,000 in the next eight weeks to help support the lifesaving that is still going on even though the doors to our shelter are closed. During that time we will be bringing you stories about the animals and people of Rescue Village. Please consider making a donation today to one of the critical programs or services.

While we are navigating this time of change and uncertainty, one thing we are sure of is that the lifesaving must go on. We will continue to help the animals who have always needed us, those who need us especially now, and those who will need us in the future. Your gift to any of these areas will help ensure that the work WILL go on!

Learn More About What We Do

Stopping Cruelty & Neglect: Our Humane Agent works to investigate all complaints of animal cruelty and neglect in Geauga County

Keeping People & Their Pets Together: We are working hard during this crisis to keep people and their pets together through our Pet Food Pantry with free deliveries, virtual pet behavior assistance, and veterinary advice.

Preparing for Kitten Season: We are preparing to safely shelter and care for the hundreds of kittens that will come through our door this spring, using our shelter staff, medical team, and foster network.

Barn Program: Our barn serves all horses and farm animals brought in by a Humane Agent from situations of abuse, neglect or abandonment.

Project S.A.V.E.: Project S.A.V.E.—Saving Animals with Veterinary Emergencies—is a special fund that enables us to do more in these unique situations in which specialized care, that we would not otherwise be able to provide, may give an animal a second chance.

Sending Animals Home: Amid the current crisis we are constantly evaluating ways that we will be able to safely proceed with adoptions as well as staying in close touch with our wonderful foster families who are providing care, enrichment, training, and most importantly, love, during this challenging time.

Humane Education Programs for Children & Adults: a leading humane education resource for the Northeast Ohio community. Through our work and programs, we aim to be a source of information and support, as well as a driving force to creating a more humane world for animals in Geauga County and beyond. During this time we are taking our programs virtual, including lessons, camps, and a Speaker Series.

General Operating: Rescue Village receives no government funding and relies completely on donations from our generous supporters. Every donation helps us make a difference in the lives of thousands of animals each and every year.
